Rules

There are 5 Rules that have to adhere to when playing for Soldiers of Eminence:

• THERE IS AN I IN TEAM
• ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR LEADER (‘S INSTRUCTIONS)
• DON’T BITCH OUT YOUR TEAM MEMBERS (everyone’s human)
• THERE IS A TIME AND A PLACE FOR SMACK
• WE DO NOT PLAY IN SKIN SERVERS FOR MATCHES OR SCRIMMAGES
• KEEP COMMUNICATION TO A MAXIMUM

THERE IS A I IN TEAM
It’s at the very start if you look hard enough - take the top off the T! There’s one simple piece of communication that sums this rule up: I will do it.... Without you making that suicidal decoy run, tracking that pesky sniper or defending our respawn against an army full of SAW’s, someone else would have had to have done it - someone that might have been in a better position than you, or someone that was holding up your right flank attack. Of course, you might not be in the best place yourself to do it, which brings me onto Rule #2...

ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR LEADER (‘S INSTRUCTIONS)
If your leader thinks it’s best for you to do something, then you do it! You may think that it’s a stupid task, or that there is someone better suited for the job, but in the heat of the battle, it isn’t the best place to be arguing with him/her about it! You may wish to take it up with your C.O. in your private forums after the game, but in game, just buckle down and get it done!

DON’T BITCH OUT YOUR SQUAD (everyone’s human)
So the our squad star sniper let one get out of the respawn, or your left flank has collapsed, exposing a simple route to your respawn... however desperate the situation may seem, don’t run your mouth off at your own squad. Everyone’s human, even you, and your probably not completely devoid of blame yourself If you see something go wrong, don’t jump onto chat/Roger Wilco screaming murder, jump onto chat/Roger Wilco to inform the rest of your squad, choose your words carefully however: - “Enemy in respawn” is more appropriate than “STUPID F**KING (player name) LET ONE GET OUT!” Also, it’s not the best idea to bitch out your enemy in public, or in the game. Accusations will see to it that your squad reputation as fair players and good losers turns into one of a whiny squad. I’ve heard of squads in the past to just have one player camping, running their mouth as a tactic, to keep the chat box rolling to prevent squad only messages being received by the other team. Sounds good in practice, and happens in real life, but again, watch your squads reputation go down the drain.
So remember.

THERE IS A TIME AND A PLACE FOR SMACK ....
Namely before that game! As for reasons described in Rule #3, don’t talk smack in the game, you should be too busy obliterating the enemy anyway! When you’re going to smack the opposing team off, you’re putting your whole squad, or yourself on the line, telling a squad that they are the worst ever created won’t look good if you lose 3 maps to 0 ! Be very careful if you’re going to accuse a player/squad of cheating, get proof, other wise it’ll turn out to be a whole squad’s word against just yours.

KEEP COMMUNICATION TO A MAXIMUM
Sounds like a really stupid thing to say, but communication needs to be kept to a maximum as well. Details such as “I’ve just been shot in the head.” Aren’t going to help anyone. Did you see the muzzle flash; do you have a rough idea where the sniper was? YES? Then tell someone! Similarly, don’t just key Wilco, and say “Enemy in respawn” - where in respawn did you see them (left? right? Next to your armoury?), what gun did he have? Was he camping or on the move? The biggest amount of information must be transferred in as quick a time as possible. If a team doesn’t pull together, they are not a team, just a dis-organised bunch of people. If you are a dis-organised bunch of people, you stand no chance of defeating a well-oiled, tactically knowledgeable side. There is no point to 6 players sticking to the game plan, while the other 2 wild cards do their own thing. Never be afraid to take one for the team. Don’t just sit there and camp while an enemy SAW runner goes right past you. Do you best to stop his run. If you are the only person that he killed, you’ve successfully defended your team from an ego-shattering, base raping! The one thing I have not yet touched upon in this article, is TEAM KNOWLEDGE. A big gun cannot replace knowledge of you teams (and their tactics) and knowledge of the map. Being in a team also means coming to practices, to get this elusive knowledge and team work!

I leave you with the following, when considering the rules before hand:

You wear the tag .soe.; therefore you play for the team. Stuff your brilliant kills/deaths ratio. If the team wins, you win. If the team loses, you lose. Take great pride in your wins, and always show respect to all, and learn from your losses.

"Have fun!
Live for the game, but more importantly live for the people around you!
The relationships you build is what makes living worth while!"
